Bio (1 new item)

British-born yet Maltese at heart — whose portraits have become part of the visual fabric of our time.

With a fine art background and a cinematic sensibility, Agius approaches photography not as documentation but as dialogue: between subject and lens, between light and emotion. His work reveals a deep commitment to sincerity, precision, and trust — qualities that enable moments of vulnerability and humour to emerge amidst the glare of celebrity. Whether capturing grandeur or quietness, Agius resists spectacle in favour of resonance, inviting us to look beyond fame toward something more enduring. Lorenzo's work affirms the power of images to tell stories that are at once iconic and deeply human. Through these photographs, Agius reminds us that creativity is not just a gift, but a craft — one shaped by persistence, integrity, and an unyielding curiosity. Lorenzo started his career by producing the memorable and iconic images of Ewan McGregor and cast of Danny Boyle's groundbreaking film “Trainspotting”, to then go on to celebrate U.K’s Cool Britannia with Oasis front man Liam Gallagher and Patsy Kensit laying on a Union Jack bedspread for the cover of Vanity Fair. Agius work summed up the 90s with commissions from the Spice Girls, Blur, Blondie, Beckham Ewan McGregor and Jude Law. Working with magazines Vogue, Elle, Harpers Bazaar, GQ, Esquire, Town and Country, The Face and ID. With his highly considered approach to photography, Agius consistently produces a diverse, humorous and highly refined range of work. He has become known as one of the pre-eminent portrait photographers of his generation and continues to work in conjunction with numerous commercial, film and editorial clients around the world. His work is in the collections of the UKs National Portrait Gallery, Victoria & Albert Museum. Malta’s Muza National Gallery. Malta Spazju Kreattiv Archive. His portraiture has encompassed many highly regarded talents including: Tom Cruise, Cate Blanchett, Brad Pitt, Andy Garcia, Jude Law, Will Smith, Beyonce, Robert Downey Jnr, Jack Nicholson, Gwen Stefani, Pink, Madonna, Nicole Kidman, Rachel Weisz, Robert Pattinson, Rebecca Ferguson, Jake Gyllenhaal, Javier Bardem, Penelope Cruz, Samuel L Jackson, Jared Leto, Kate Winslet, Muhammad Ali, Roger Federa, Serina Williams, Carey Mulligan, Margot Robbie, Helen Mirren, Sharon Stone, Michael Fassbender, Denzel Washington, Viola Davis, HRH Queen Rania of Jordan, HRH King Charles, Oprah Winfrey, Juliette Binoche, John Malkovich, Anthony Hopkins, Richard Gere, Zoe Kravitz, Eddie Redmayne, Jamie Fox, Christian Bale, Ben Affleck, Vivian Westwood, Manolo Blahnik, Azzedine Alaia, Paul Smith, Valentino, Donatella Versace and many more.
